About Scott Blundo

I grew up in the small town of Woodbury, Connecticut and began doing stone masonry as a summer job during my high school years. By my senior year, I was managing a crew of masons and laborers constructing walls and installing landscapes. I enjoyed the work so much that I almost started my masonry career there, but I could not pass up a nomination to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

I graduated from Annapolis in 1992 with a degree in Ocean Engineering. Upon graduation, I attended Nuclear Power School en route to my ship, USS Ohio. In total, I spent 7 years as a submarine officer. I truly enjoyed my time in the military, especially the hands-on work with the crew. I left the service to begin what I thought would be a long career in the corporate world. After 3 years working as a financial consultant, I realized that I missed working with my hands and living an active lifestyle.

In 2001, I moved to Moultonborough, New Hampshire and began working for a well-respected stone mason in the lakes region. I spent 8 years working for the same company, learning every detail of the trade I fell in love with as a young kid. In 2009, I created Rustic Stone & Garden Design, LLC and began life as a business owner. It has been an absolute thrill to build a business founded on the principles of wonderful craftsmanship, strong client relations, and fair pricing. Whether it is a fireplace, patio, or garden, it is truly gratifying to create something that will be enjoyed by others for years to come.

My wife, Laura, and I continue to live in Moultonborough. We have three children, Josh, Emily and Tyler. We love to be outdoors as a family, playing sports, kayaking, skiing and enjoying what New Hampshire has to offer. In the late summer and fall, you will find me on the football field with a whistle coaching the Interlakes-Moultonborough Football Team. I am also President of the Booster Club, so the rest of the year I fundraise to ensure the program can enjoy continued success.
